A Fresh Take on Grocery Retail.
Beckworth Emporium - UK
What success did we aim to create?
Beckworth Emporium approached us to elevate the identity and experience of its Grocery Food-hall. The goal was to implement a cost-effective yet impactful retail brand transformation that would enhance customer engagement, introduce a distinctive tone of voice, and integrate the Food-hall more seamlessly into the overall brand experience of the emporium.
How did we create the success?
As a specialist retail design agency, we focused on creating a refreshed environment that balanced market charm with clear brand storytelling. Our strategy included:
- A new layout and product adjacencies to improve flow and visibility
- Updated fixtures, including checkouts and trolley zones, to enhance functionality
- Use of tongue-and-groove wall panelling and a complementary colour palette for a premium feel
- A branded signage system with clear descriptors such as Fresh & Chilled, Fruit & Veg, and The Bottle Shop to simplify navigation
- Feature counters like The Chocolate Box and Cake & Bake to amplify the specialist artisan appeal.
- Custom packaging under the “Beckworth in the Box” label to complete the branded experience, making it easier to buy more.
The focus was on driving store design outcomes that feel curated, accessible, and unique.
What were the results?
The new concept revitalised the Food-hall and strengthened Beckworth’s brand positioning.
- Increased customer engagement through improved navigation and product storytelling
- Enhanced brand perception via cohesive visuals and a defined tone of voice
- Delivered a memorable brand experience that deepened loyalty and extended dwell time
”The facelift, layout and branding have significantly improved how customers perceive the Beckworth business.
