A Glasshouse Dining Experience Redefined.
Beckworth Emporium - UK
What success did we aim to create?
Beckworth Emporium tasked us with transforming their much-loved restaurant into a significantly larger venue while retaining the warmth, intimacy, and charm that made it a customer favourite. The aim was to deliver a seamless brand experience that would enhance both brand experience and commercial performance.
How did we create the success?
As a trusted retail design agency, we approached this project with a strategy rooted in empathy and legacy. After in-depth workshops with the founder, we developed a design that could accommodate over 400 diners across 800 square meters while still feeling personal and inviting.
Our design strategy included:
- Building a new glasshouse to unify old and new architecture
- Creating flexible dining zones to support different customer needs and increase dwell time
- Introducing pavilion structures to create focal points and elevate ambience
- Designing a wraparound glazed canopy to preserve the alfresco heritage
- Using warm tones, natural materials, and lush greenery to soften scale and build atmosphere
- Integrating premium materials from suppliers such as Solus ceramics, Andy Thornton metalwork, and iGuzzini lighting to elevate quality and reinforce the brand experience.
- Positioning a showpiece bar with advanced Modbar coffee systems to support seamless service delivery
What were the results?
The new ‘Restaurant in the Glasshouse’ opened in May 2021 to exceptional customer feedback and record footfall. Customers immediately recognised the evolution with the statement, “It’s like Beckworth, but better.” The expanded layout has supported a broader range of dining occasions while improving service flow and operational efficiency.
”Everything looked amazing! We absolutely love the new restaurant. The customer feedback has been amazing!
