What success did we aim to create?
We were engaged by Mega Image to transform the Mega Apetit packaging range into a more visually engaging, shoppable brand. The goal was to create a cohesive packaging system that would drive shelf standout, simplify the customer decision-making process, and strengthen brand identity across hundreds of SKUs in the fast-paced convenience food category.
How did we create the success?
As a strategic retail design agency, we developed a packaging solution rooted in consumer behaviour and clarity. Key elements of our design approach included:
- Category Clarity: We restructured the range into clear groups—Mains, Sides, On-the-Go, and Desserts—using colour coding to guide the customer journey.
- Bold Visual Language: A confident graphic style supported quick, intuitive choices, ideal for time-sensitive shopping environments.
- Attribute Badging: Key selling points like Totally Vegan, High in Protein, or Treat Yourself were added as badges to reinforce purchase triggers.
- Scalable Design System: The identity was developed to flex easily across a vast and evolving range of product formats.
- Premium Sub-Line: The By Chefs range was elevated using a more refined and minimalist aesthetic to signal quality and culinary expertise.
What were the results?
Launched in February 2021 across over 800 stores in Romania, the new Mega Apetit packaging delivered a significant uplift in brand presence and ease of navigation. It strengthened brand consistency across the network, improved in-store experience, and was positively received by internal stakeholders and customers alike.
